HOME BOARDING CUSTOMERS, It’s a long one ! Please read 🫶🏼

I just wanted to talk about this subject as It’s a vital bit of information when booking your dog in with us. As a licensed business policies and procedures need to be written and adhered to. When you board your dogs with us you have to provide us with an emergency contact for your dog while you’re away. What people don’t realise is, this has to be someone who is willing to pick your dog up in an emergency at anytime.

We often get people put their partners down but this person is away on holiday with them 🤦🏻‍♀️ - how do they collect your dog in an emergency when they are on holiday with you ??

I want to reassure customers, we don’t ring emergency contacts unless we absolutely have no choice, but we have to have this person 100% ready to collect your dog if needs be.

Anything could happen when you’re away for 2 weeks. We always think it won’t but it could ! And we have to be sure everything is in place for worse case scenario.

Example’s of things that people don’t seem to think about (said nicely) ~

• Me or Sue may become seriously unwell meaning we are unable to look after your dog.
• We could be admitted to hospital! No one knows what’s round the corner ! Therefore all dogs would need to be collected.
• Your dog suddenly has a change in temperament, they may have bitten another dog or even bitten me or Sue. The risk is then too high to keep them.
•Your dog becomes sick, has an infectious or carrying a serious infectious disease. We cannot isolate them but this would be impossible long term and so would need to be collected. As risk of infection going through the whole pack would be too high.
• A female dog comes into season. It states in our license agreement we cannot have any females in season. Therefore if they come into season during their stay they would need to be collected.

Please do make sure the emergency contact KNOWS they have been put down and they are willing to collect your dog and look after them if we can’t.

We should all know the drill by now but we have lots of new customers too! Please don’t worry our team are all wrapped up and ready for today and the week ahead ☃️

Daycare doggies ❄️
The cabin is fully heated and so nice and toasty! So please don’t worry. Our morning exercise maybe shorter than normal. We will monitor the doggies we have In. Also, we have the option of a log burner afternoon 🔥 in the house. So all good 😊 Please remember to arrive in fleeces or coats now the weather has changed ready for morning walk.

Our Walking customers 🐾 ❄️
Most people have 1hr slots booked but as our doggies tend to be more exposed to the cold the team will be monitoring your dogs throughout their walks and any dog that is uncomfortable or unhappy will be bringing home early and will finish with a home visit and play - this will mainly apply to our old, small, and short-haired dogs . We have already messaged our Dachshund 🌭customers today as they are so low to the cold ground 🥹. Please can all customers leave out your dogs jumper or coat to wear now. We have been lucky until now with temperatures.

We are heading into that time of year, the paths and roads are getting slippy which means that grit is starting to be laid. Grit commonly causes burns to dogs paw pads 😭 to avoid this our team will stay extra vigilant, avoiding busy paths and roads, and we will wipe dogs paws down with a towel after EVERY walk! However you may wish to wash them when you get home to be safe.

If you want to switch your walk to a homevisit please just let us know. The safety of your dogs is of course our top priority 🫶🏻
